We've found that the best moderators:

(1) Have the desire to help others find information and answers.
(2) Have some experience posting on bulletin boards and are familiar with our site.
(3) Have a strong interest in the topic of their forum. For college forums, this may include students, alumni or administrators of a college. For career forums, this may include professionals in that career (or retired from that career). For majors forums, this may include students who are or have studied that major.

(2) Why are you qualified to moderate that forum? (e.g. Are you a student or an administrator at that university? Are you in that career? Are you studying that major? etc.)
