I got accepted here. It's not my first choice, but I'm considering it. Anyone have an opinion?

I love Cal Lutheran. I have been attending since August of 2005, and I have found the faculty to be well experienced, and the staff to be friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this school.

I concur with FaithJC. It's a good school in a good area. I got my Bachelors there and I am now finishing up my Masters there as well. Both degrees in Computer Science.

I have been rather pleased with the instructors, students, and staff there.

Thanks guys. That's good to hear. Couple questions though...

1. It's not a very religious school, is it? Cal "Lutheran." Because I'm not a very religious person and I just didn't want religion in my face everyday. But, I'm assuming that it's not very religious anymore, right?

2. What's the on-campus housing like? I can't find any pictures online anywhere and all I can find about the housing is from what they say about it on their site... which is probably a little biased.

Thanks again!

I graduated from Cal Lutheran a couple of years ago and really enjoyed my time there. Small classes, professors know your name - you feel like a student rather than just an ID number (I also attended a huge state university).
Although the name of the school contains a religious title, it's not a terribly religious campus. You are required to take 2 religion courses (1 if you are a transfer student, like I was), but even then, it's not like they are shoving religious beliefs down your throat.
The campus living is actually pretty nice. Freshman dorms are small - but they are small anywhere you go. The rest of the on-campus housing are suites, and quite a few are brand new and are way nicer than most apartments in the surrounding area.
A lot of people I know didn't have it down as their first choice (like myself), but really wound up loving it once they got there.

Hi,

I am a graduate student at CLU. I went to junior college and another university first and then decided I wanted to attend a smaller school for my advanced degree. I am in my first year, thus far, I enjoy it tremendously! Best of luck regarding your final decision in which school to attend.

Thank you both. That's helpful information. Wish me luck. I have to decide soon.

Thanks.

I forgot to say this a while ago, but I ended up deciding to go here. Looking forward to it.
