I am one of those people who went to college to get a degree to do what I love. I have a good time everyday I go to work because to me it does not feel like work. I wouldn't change my choice of majors or career but I would have taken less nonsense classes in college. My business involves breeding, training, selling, and boarding horses. The saying is to make a million with horses you have to start with two million. The trick for any livestock venture is to make money first and then get your animals. I didn't have any horses and I just trained and it was pure profit, then I added on to my business as time progressed. The good things about doing what I do are that I enjoy it, I can be outside, and I get stuck behind a desk one day a week. The problems come in dealing with the people that come with the animals. Take management and business classes and get a job working as a "people manager". You may be able to manage a herd of 1000 head of cattle but not knowing how to handle employees or clients will be your downfall. Take all the classes you can and be well rounded. If you're paying so much for college you might as well make the most of it.
