As a software engineer I love the creation part of the job, to create and manipulate content in different ways is exciting and satisfactory. If you keep logic and layouts simple then it is easy to maintain and easy for others to use your applications. One aspect that I do not like depends on the work environment, in big companies there tends to be a lot of pressure and pull for deadlines and project prioritizations so much so that the joy of developing and managing a project can become tiresome. Makes sure to choose a company that suits your type of personality, that is, a company that is a good fit with you because no matter how much you love what you do if you’re in an environment that stifles your creativity it starts to feel like a job.
This career is a very lucrative one and in demand too. But one advice I would like to give from my personal experience is that stick to your ideals no matter what comes ahead. Be prepared for anything in this career. Anything can happen anytime and you would never know what next. It may so happen that when there is no work around, then you may have to do a job which does not interest you.
The career option is full of challenges and requires lot of mental work. However whoever is inclined towards accepting such kind of job may consider it as an option . One would really love the work. Given an opportunity to reconsider my career option I would definetly choose it once again. The work requires lot of thought process and space for experimentation and those who believe in original thinking and innovation.
