I thoroughly enjoyed my time at HCC. After having tried to make it at a 4 year university with extremely large classes, the transfer to a small community college was perfect for me. The smaller classes meant more individual attention. With one exception I found the professors to be more patient and more approachable. HCC has a wide variety of two year programs as well as programs to prepare a student to move on to a four year university. If I had it to do over I would go to HCC first before going to a major university. HCC now has campuses all around the area, not just the Dale Mabry & Davis Island campuses that I attended. I would reccomend this school to anyone.
I chose to go to community college because I couldn't afford to go to a university. There is more than one location in the Tampa Bay are and I attended two of the locations. It wasn't the best college in the United States, but I still enjoyed my time there. I had great professors. One was even like a mentor to me. I studied Justice Administration, and I felt that the classes were challenging. I met some great people there. The campus life was almost non-existent compared to a university, but I didn't really mind.
40 years ago, women used to score 50 points lower on the Math portion of the SAT than on the Verbal. Today, their Math and Verbal scores are nearly identical on average.
