	In Brief

	Augsburg College is a liberal arts college located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was founded in 1869 in Marshall, Wisconsin and moved to Minneapolis in 1872. In the 1890s Augsburg leaders formed the "Friends of Augsburg", later called the Lutheran Free Church. Augsburg is a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The sports teams are nicknamed "Auggies". The school is now affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
