Get in to this career if you love sales and if you are good with people. I would recommend this career to people who are good with people, ambitious and have technical qualifications. I don't think I would do it over again. Pros are good money and lots of opportunities. Cons are pressure and have to deal with all sorts of people. If you choose this career stick to this as long as possible.
I'm in pharmaceutical sales, and I love it. To get into the industry, you really need to have determination and persistance. Do not take no for an answer, when interviewing. I can not see myself having any other job. Pros: Great pay, benefits, flexibility. Cons: Can get mundane, interactions with customers are not always positive.
My advice would be to find a niche you can be passionate about. That's the only thing that can keep you making calls and staying upbeat so you make more sales and that in turn makes you more money which keeps the cycle going.
Of course I would recommend this career, it has been very good to me and my son is following in my footsteps and already making 6 Grand a month at age 24 with no college education.
The best thing is you can get started and climb fast with no education or special skills if you get the right hookup. That takes selling yourself so you can get a chance to sell the product you choose. The bad part is it's all based on how well you do, so you can starve if you don't succeed.
The one thing people may not know about this business is it can lead to owning your own successful distributorship and pay you long into your retirement years. You will always have a marketable skill once you learn it.
